PROFESSION
“My son, I want you to be a doctor, a doctor, no more no
less”, the old man said with emphasis and finality. Those were the words of my
father one evening when I had just returned home from school. I remember the
day so well as if it were yesterday. By then I was a small boy, seven years
old.
Each individual especially the young, would like to be a professional
in future. Parents, teachers, religious bodies, Agency for the disabled people,
local authorities and non-governmental organizations have always wanted the
young generations to pursue desirable careers. Above all the question remains;
which profession is the best?
The taste is quite different with those already in
professions. For instance, a teacher would imagine that lawyers are in a better
position as well as those in the school of medicine would imagine people in the
business world are doing well. As the saying goes; grass is always greener on
the other side of the fence.
